Overturn Citizens United

There is no argument, we need to overturn Citizens United TODAY! Our democracy is undermined by the ability of wealthy corporations and special interests who buy politicians and elections by spending hundreds of millions of dollars in support of the candidates of their choice.

It is heartening to see New Mexico’s Sen. Tom Udall unveil a constitutional amendment that would bring an end to the 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court. This new amendment would grant Congress and the states the power to limit political spending on campaigns.

We need to ensure any candidate who runs for office remains beholden to the people they serve, not corporations. We must eliminate the loopholes that allow companies to pour millions of dollars into campaigns and sway elections, leveling the playing field for more progressive policies that our country desperately needs.
