Outrageous Medicare
What is outrageous is this! *
- 87 million Americans were uninsured or underinsured.
- 40 million declined to visit the doctor because of exorbitant costs.
- 37 million couldn’t afford to fill a needed prescription.
- And 26% of diabetics in the U.S. were forced to ration insulin.

QUOTE “Congressman Eshoo Has Taken More Pharmaceutical Money Than Any Other Rep California’s Anna Eshoo has sponsored legislation backed by the pharmaceutical interests funding her campaigns”
“Eshoo has a record of advancing legislation that benefits the pharmaceuticals industry. In 2009, she introduced legislation, along with Texas Republican Joe Barton, to give pharmaceutical companies 12-year exclusivity periods for biologic drugs, beyond the length of their patents, to protect them from competition by the generic drug industry” END QUOTE
QUOTE “A scathing report by the Federal Trade Commission in June said no added protection, much less 12 years, was warranted, and warned that the Eshoo legislation would ensure sky-high drug prices and stifle innovation on the most promising frontier of medical research.” END QUOTE

“Rather than creating price-lowering competition, the Eshoo approach would establish extended monopoly protections totaling 12.5 years and exceeding the monopolies already conferred by patents, as well as imposing a series of needless hurdles for approval of generics. “

“Given current economic conditions, does it make sense to support a bill that sustains high drug prices, stifles innovation, and reduces our patients’ access to lifesaving drugs in the future? In Eshoo’s own district, one out of every 10 residents under the age of 65 has no health insurance — including one of every 20 children.”

CONCLUSION
The only real solution to our current exorbitant cost of health care in this country is Medicare for All.
I support it — HR 1384
Congresswoman Anna Eshoo does not support Medicare for All HR 1384. But 118 Congressmembers do support it today.
